Now that the snow has gone away in the low country, it’s time to get to work again. The new path across Lidafjellet is one of the new routes to be marked by the Turstiprosjektet Myvåg/Tjørvåg project in 2016.

Our route today. The cyan route is the new route and the marks are the sticks we put up

Anne came to Sunnmøre for the weekend and joined me on this afternoon project. I carried 20 sticks and she carrier the hammer and chisel. That’s about a fair split 😉

This is a very nice route which starts at the Stemmedalen waterworks, runs up the ridge to Lidafjellet and joins the marked route between Dyrkyrkja and Huldrehornet. What’s nice about this route is that it for the most part runs on slabs/rock and is fairly dry. The challenge is of course to put up sticks on terrain such as this.

Nitti-gritti work to make sure the stick sits solid

It was a gorgeous afternoon. Kinda strange to think that it was snowing this morning!

We were 8 sticks short to complete the route so there will be one more trip up here. On Lidafjellet we decided to walk back home via Huldrehornet and then Anne would drive me back to Stemmedalen so I could get my car.
