Summer vacation in eastern Norway, day 9

June 23rd – and fresh snow on Sognefjellet

Peaks visited:

Peak Height PF Location
Prestesteinshøgdi 1532m 135m Luster, Norway
Huldrehornet 271m 113m Herøy, M&R, Norway

Continued from day 8

Prestesteinshøgdi (1532m)

By far, the easiest top on Sognefjellet

Saturday, and we checked out from Mysusæter and Rondane Høyfjellshotell in the morning. Today would just be a transport leg to Sogndal, as we were to meet up with good friends in the evening.

But the dogs needed a walk along the way, so we stopped on Sognefjellet to visit Prestesteinshøgdi – a “bonus peak“, in respect to the low vertical gain and short distance.

Our route up and down from the highway across Sognefjellet

There was nothing about the weather that resembled mid-summer. There was even fresh snow a bit higher up.

Not exactly summer feeling…

It was altogether a short, but very nice round trip before returning to western Norway (well, strictly speaking – this top IS in western Norway).

Trip statistics: 2,2km, 135 vertical meters, 40 minutes

Sunday (June 24th), and back home in Møre og Romsdal – and back to the rain …

Back in the local terrain…
