Spring has taken a pause on the northwestern shore of Norway and for the past days, we’ve been reminded that winter has NOT gone into hibernation. Today, it’s been snowing most of the day – although it melted pretty quickly < 300m. But in the afternoon, we had a weather window offering sunshine! Anne and I quicly decided we should go to Rjåhornet and put up some more sticks in the limited time we had – before going to Brandal for a presentation at Ishavsmuseet.
We followed a route that I am developing on behalf of Turstiprosjektet Myrvåg/Tjørvåg. I was carrying 15 sticks in my backpack, weighing at least 15kg in total. Fortunately, I could drop them off at 260m as that’s where I finished off last time.
The hike to the summit was SO enjoyable in this fantastic light. There’s no mountain in my region I’d rather be on – in a light like this!
After signing the visitor’s register and giving Karma her “summit candy”, it was time for a few Fun glissades!
Back at 260m, we were able to put up 5 more sticks before we ran out of time and had to hurry back home. But the route will be complete in the very near future.
