Barsnes – Årøy, Apr 26 2021
The hike from Barsnes to Årøy is a hike I really like, and today Anne came along. We left one car at Årøy before heading out from Barsnes. The first part is a walk along the road to Vikastrondi. The second part is along a very vague – sometimes hard to find – path, which runs up and down in rocky terrain. It’s quite fun and I enjoy this walk every time.

Hesteggi (907m), Apr 27 2021
Karma and I started out on the regular path to Hesteggi, from Kjørnes. But when we joined the tractor road from Kaupanger, we went off-trail in the forest. It was a beautiful day and a very nice round trip hike!

Honest labor, Apr 28 2021
One of my chores while enjoying the good life at Anne’s place was to raise a stone wall, supporting a flower bed. These computer hands haven’t done too much hard labor the last decades, but when it comes to handling rock or wood, I’m not half bad!

Stedjeåsen (624m), Apr 29 2021
Today, I did a route I hadn’t done before. I started by the fjord, near Bondeviki, hiked up to Skardsbø, went across Stedjeåsen and down to Anne’s place in Sogndal via some paths I hadn’t done before. I just loved the current weather!

Helping friends, Apr 30 2021
Today, we helped our good friends Jannike and Mara move their Chiropractor clinic in Sogndal. It’s very nice to help friends and to meet new people at the same time!

Breinosi (1641m), Slettind (1592m), May 1 2021
Today, we treated ourselves with a very, very nice ski-trip on Hemsedalsfjellet. We started out from lake Eldrevatnet, crossed Hestebakkdalen valley, skied between points 1463m and 1528m before aiming for Breinosi – which was the goal for this trip.
But given the beautiful weather, we chose to extend the trip to include Slettind also. We had a rather steep descent from Breinosi before we could begin the ascent towards Slettind. I will cherish this trip for a long time to come!

Kammen (698m), Slakkafjellet (855m), Stedjeåsen (624m), May 2 2021
This was a truly fun walk that I didn’t have done before. Karma and I started out in Øvstedalen and hiked up to Kammen – where I hadn’t been before. Then we continued across Slakkafjellet before crossing Skardsbøfjellet, aiming for Skardet pass – which we passed earlier in the week. Then we continued up to Stedjeåsen, before returning to Anne’s place via various paths. And afterwards, the flower bed was officially opened…
This was a most memorable week!
