Wednesday: The weather was beautiful, and my body was able and willing to go for an afternoon hike. Fortunately, Anne didn’t have any field work today and could come along for a hike across Garnestua. I left work a little early to enjoy the sunshine and would catch up with work later in the afternoon.
We headed out from Haddal and enjoyed the sunshine.
The sun was still “high”, and we would have that sun as company on our way to the top.
Above the forest, we parted so that we could take pictures of each other…
Eventually, we got on the high ridge. I find this ridge quite picturesque and had to run ahead so that I could capture Anne coming up.
I just loved being here and I was so glad Anne was here to share the moment with me.
Then we sat course for the top.
And for the 2nd time in 3 days, I was on top of Garnestua.
The sun still hadn’t set beyond Gurskøya, so we went over to the Flåna ridge.
Now, it was just a matter of minutes…
The very last rays of the day fell on Melshornet above Hareid.
Now, it was time to head back down.
Karma would have loved this hike with mommy and daddy. There isn’t any grieving anymore, just gratitude and longing for what we had.
Prior to the hike, I had left my bike at Løset. That would save us from a boring 4km hike down Ringstaddalen.
When we reached the road, Anne kept on walking while I got on the bike. 11 minutes later, I was in the car and a few minutes later, I picked Anne up.
Trip statistics: 6,1km on foot, 4,2km on bike, 660 vertical meters, 2h:13m
