Karma - on her way up Sandfjelltuva

Another great ski-trip from the car!

A lovely day all around – and also in Syvden!

Our route

Sunday: The great weather continued and today we would definitely go to Sandfjelltuva from Norddalen – which was the plan the day before. Instead, I ended up on Trollkoppehornet with mountain skis. Today, I was bringing my Randonnée skis.

We could have skied directly from the car, but the parking alongside the road was full and we had to find a lower parking. It was in theory possible to drive all the way up to lake Kvanndalsvatnet – ignoring any snow that might be on the road, but I didn’t have the need to find out.

Heading out from the car. The skiing route is just around the bend

After carrying the skis for a couple of minutes, the ski-trip was on!

Here we go!

On my way up – I stopped to take this picture of Tenna. I had no idea that Karma and I would be hiking this mountain one week later, not touching snow until we hiked from the south tip to the summit point…

Back to the present, it didn’t take long until the celebrations started…

Oh no … already?

Karma gave me this – “I’m going to check everything out” look. I let her. As long as she respected the perimiter. Which isn’t wide…

That’s far enough…

It was nice to see Blæjeskardtinden again. We had a mighty nice roundtrip around this horseshoe last year.

We now had Sandfjelltuva in clear view, ahead of us. Some bozos had left a track straight up the mountain. It’s more than 30 degrees in the upper part!

Are you serious? A track straight up?

All I wanted was to get UP and enjoy the ride down…

Not even halfway up

Seeing others, I simply couldn’t wait…

That’s what I’m talking about…

And eventually, we reached the top…

On top of Sandfjelltuva

As much as I wanted to get on with the descent, the usual rituals had to be followed. Treats and pictures!

And today I even threw in a selfie

Karma and me on Sandfjelltuva

There was no one around to take a picture of me, going down. Which was OK. I had the best time anyway. And Karma was running like crazy – straight down, with me taking turns around her.

View towards Trollkoppehornet – skied the day before

The short uphill down by the meadow was a bit annoying, but this was not a day for complaints.

Blæja

What a nice skiing weekend. The only “problem” was that the trip felt a bit … short?

Yes it did. So we went for one more trip – a hike this time…
