Back at Korgen Fjellstue…
Summer vacation, day 7
Thursday: After hiking Solvågtinden and Máddåjvve the day before, I woke up at Storjord with an aching knee. I thought I just had to do some stretching, but it was more to it than that. Clearly an inflammation. Which was bad news, as we had planned to do Kvigtinden (1699m) in Børgefjell on Friday and Saturday.
The knee got worse throughout the day, but we still made the hotel and cabin bookings necessary to get us there and stay two nights at the Simskardet cabin. The knee just HAD TO get better.
We left Storjord and sat course for Mo I Rana, where we stopped a couple of hours for shopping. Then, we drove to Korgen Fjellstue and checked into the same room we had back in 2021.
We quite like this place! The room is nice, the food is nice, and it’s never been crowded when we’ve been there.
Anne took Karma for a walk to Murfjellet (648m) – which I hiked solo back in 2021. That day, we slept in a tent. We stopped by Korgen Fjellstue on our way south after vacation in the north.
Great – now ALL of us had been to that top. Meanwhile, I rested in the room, with my leg up in the air.
In the evening, we enjoyed a nice dinner and a couple of fun rounds of 8-ball.
