Continued from day 3…
Wednesday: My last working day before Easter ended 2:30pm but now the plan had changed. Anne wanted to do the long trip on Thursday and not today. That was maybe a good decision, because it was much warmer now and the snow was wet. The skis would not glide very fast.
She decided to have resting day, and I went on a (fairly short) trip to Nevelfjell.
I wasn’t sure where the track I was on, was leading me, and so I took a shortcut towards the mountain. The snow didn’t carry my weight like it had done in the past days.
And it was very windy too. The kiters had a lovely time…
A little bit later, I could see the Røde Kors cabin, and I remembered very clearly the wind when Karma, Anne and I was up here in December 2023.
This wasn’t a new PF100 top, but at least it was a PF100 top. No complaints…
From here, I could see over to Sjusjøen, where we have spent 3 Christmas vacations in recent years. There is nothing more for me to do over there…
Then I continued over to Slåsæterfjellet (now back on the prepared track), which was a new top for me, but it didn’t have a prominence of 100m.
I followed the track down to the main road and crossed under the bridge. I was fed up with the poor glide but decided to return the hotel via Hafjelltoppen.
I took an off-track route, which was a little bit tricky where the snow was rotten.
But I got up and could enjoy a nice view towards Nevelfjell.
The skis ran so poorly that I had to use the poles to run downhill. I sure hope we will have better conditions tomorrow.
