Tuesday: We woke up to nice weather at Pellestova, Hafjell.

We had breakfast 7:30am and I started my working day 8am. Anne went for a 9km ski-trip during the day and at 2pm, I paused my work (to continue in the afternoon) and we went for a ski-trip to Sjøsæterfjellet. This would be our 2nd new PF100 top in 2026 and we both looked very much forward to the trip.

Our skis (with built-in skins) were terrible the day before. So, before this trip, we put some glider on and rubbed the sole a bit. And the skis were flying!

45 minutes later, we passed “Skikiosken” at Hornsjøvegen, crossed the road and sat course for Sjøsæterfjellet.

Like the day before, the snow carried our weight. Skiing outside the tracks was just beautiful. And we saw a hare, running for its life just in front of us.

On our way to the top, we passed through the westernmost of the Sjøsætra cabins.

When skiing is this easy, one may wonder why there are so many peopke down in the tracks, and so few on the mountains.

And then we could celebrate a new top.

Sorry, Anne. This top ain't big enough for the both of us...

Anne was eager to get going. Maybe because she wanted to reach “Skikiosken” before it closed at 4pm.

But I had to take a few more pictures first…

We reached the kiosk just before it closed and we enjoyed waffles and something to drink. And then we sat course for Pellestova.

A little bit later, we took a different track – not quite knowing how long the detour would be.

We got a bit tired. Anne had already done one ski-trip today and I was carrying a 5kg rucksack. The skins weren’t really “biting” at this time of the day and skiing was a little strenuous.

Approaching Pellestova, we split up. Anne headed back to the hotel while I wanted to stop by Hafjelltoppen – for the extra vertical meters.

Looking back on Sjøsæterfjellet, it seemed far away. The point-to-point distance between the two tops is 6,4km.

I didn’t spend more than a few seconds on top, enough for a few pictures.

Then I returned to the hotel, enjoyed a shower, worked for another hour until it was time for dinner.

The weather forecast had changed. Now, the best weather would be the next day, which was a bit annoying as we had planned the longest trip on Thursday. But as it would be snowing then, we decided to go for the long trip after I finished working the next day.

Trip statistics: 18km, 430 vertical meters, 3h:12m

Continued on day 4….
