Thursday: Another wonderful day, and I decided to hike Garnestua from Haddal. But first, I drove up to Løset and left my bike there.
Heading out from Haddal, the spring feeling was back in full. My right knee was giving me a hard time, and I was basically limping for the first twenty minutes.
By the time I got out of the forest, the knee was OK again and I could truly start enjoying the hike.
I had a good view towards Haddalshornet and saw 50% of the route I did the day before.
Ringstaddalen was extra gorgeous today.
The snow was rapidly melting, but there were still skiing possibilities in the Ørsta mountains…
My home island – Gurskøya would probably lose the snow within the coming week, if we avoided any further snowfalls.
There wasn’t much snow left on the south-facing mountainside, and the ascent was not as cumbersome as on Haddalshornet the day before.
A bit later, I reached the top of Garnestua.
I have no clue why I was up there all alone. On the other hand, I guess folks have a lot of mountains to choose between.
I was a little stressed about not having any proper spring ski-trips yet. I was hoping for a ski-trip the upcoming weekend, but the weather forecast isn’t that great.
I could always drive to Trollstigen, but just the driving takes half a day. The need to ski is maybe not so strong anymore. I’ve had my fair share of nice ski-trips.
Eidskyrkja is my best candidate, but I want a sunny day for it…
I began my descent towards Løset and had to deal with some wet snow in the beginning.
It was nice to reach the bike and blast down the Ringstaddalen valley…
Trip statistics: 3,9km on bike, 5,1km on foot, 625 vertical meters, 1h:57m
