Short stop in Sogndal, before going to Shetland
This trip would normally have been covered in a week report, but there will not be a week 26, 27 or 28, because of individual trip report…
Wednesday: Back in Sogndal after the stays at Gaustablikk and Iungsdalshytta. The first part of the day was devoted to work, even if it was in the middle of my summer vacation. It had been a bad networking day the day before, and I knew that my colleagues would appreciate if I could lend a hand.
Then followed booking our Shetland trip, for Saturday. Yai!
In the afternoon, I decided to visit Nuken, but I didn’t want to hike from sea level, and I didn’t want to drive all the way to the Åsen trailhead at 658m.
In order to get my daily dose of 500 vertical meters, I decided to park below Hovslundengi, at 382m and bike up to the Åsen trailhead.
The biking part was hard, and I looked forward to the hike.
I kept a good pace and met 4 hikers, coming down the mountain.
Eventually, I was up and looked forward to returning to Anne – and barbeque.
The weather was OK, but I could feel a few raindrops.
On my way down, I spent a few minutes with a sheep that really appreciated being petted. The lamb stayed in the background, hopefully ready for some attention next year.
Back at Åsen, I looked forward to a 2,1km and 7-minute ride back down to my car…
