Huldrehornet (271m), Mar 15 2021

This day started with Aurora Borealis

The first thing on the agenda early this morning was to give the dog a haircut. Check!

Ah … another trimming session completed

In the afternoon, we hiked Huldrehornet. It had rained all day but it started snowing in the afternoon. But, when we were on top, the weather was OK.

Fresh snow and fresh haircut on Huldrehornet

Øyrahornet (417m), Skåla (184m), Mar 16 2021

OK weather on Øyrahornet

A hike across Øyrahornet and Skåla on fresh snow. Very nice!

Rjåhornet (600m), Mar 17 2021

Our route up and down Rjåhornet

Any day without snowfall or rain is a good hiking or skiing day. As such, I was not disappointed that Rjåhornet was foggy today. I know very well the view from the top…

Below the summit. Not much to see today…

Hasundhornet (533m), Mar 18 2021

On Hasundhornet, above the fog

This was a good hike, from Garsholhaugen, across Hasundhornet, down via “Notten” and back along the main road. It was very nice to get above the fog, but it was also very nice to find a route (off-trail) down a steep and icy hillside…

Løkeberget (579m), Mar 19 2021

Karma – checking the onward route to Løkeberget

The snow was rapidly melting away and I took Karma to Løset – to hike Løkeberget (aka Løkeberghornet). We hiked the normal route to the top and descended (off-trail) the quite steep west flank. I always enjoy walking places where I haven’t walked before.

Aurvollegga (446m), Røddalshorn (563m), Mar 20 2021

After rain all day, we got our break!

This was an enjoyable round trip hike. It had rained ALL day, but it cleared up just as Karma and I started to hike up Aurvollegga and then continued up to Røddalshorn.

Veten (Hidsegga), Mar 21 2021

We picked a steep ascent route today

A nice round trip hike on a grey day. We started out from Hidsneset, followed one of the newest marked routes on Gurskøy island – to the top of Hidsegga. From there, we hiked across Grøthornet and Trolltua before visiting the beach and returning to Hidsneset.
