Haddalshornet (611m), Mar 8 2021

The week didn’t begin with sunshine…

The week didn’t start well, with respect to weather and the general shape and form. Getting across the doorstep is a major win on days like these, but once on the trail – things normally tend to get better

Melshornet (807m), Mar 9 2021

Oh what a glorious day. But the hike up was *tough*

Karma and I hiked from Rystefeltet (near Ørsta), and when we got to lake Dinglavatnet I tested if the ice would carry my weight. It didn’t. Now my feet were all wet and we still had a long way to go – in deep snow. I was worried that I would get a frostbite if I carried on, still I decided to take the chance. I could always stop and rub my toes. After all, this wasn’t the Himalayas

The effort was rewarded with glorious views…

Heida (239m), Brendeåsen (131m), Mar 10 2021

On top of Heida

The sunny weather disappeared just as quick as it came. I took the opportunity to check out a new route in the forest above Leikong. I started out from Feirelia, then visited Heida before returning via Brendeåsen.

Laupsnipa (558m), Mar 11 2021

Karma – really happy about being back on snow

The usual round trip hike from Voldnes, to Laupsnipa, a visit to Keipen before returning to the trailhead via lake Voldnesvatnet. It’s ALWAYS nice to be on Laupsnipa!

Hjørungneshornet (185m), Mar 12 2021

Nice hike, with rain moving in fast (not from this direction)

Rain was moving in, but according to the forecast – I had some time for hiking after work and before the rain sat in. I timed a visit to the office I report to (but never visit) – Hjørungavåg and hike the neighbor top “Hornet” after work.

Lidaveten (592m), Mar 13 2021

Karma – back in the snow on Lidaveten

Yet another VERY NICE hike across Lidaveten in Volda. We took our usual ascent route – from Berkneset and on the way down I found a new path from the “Gapahuk”. I LOVE finding new routes…

Across Sandsøya (365m), Mar 14 2021

On our way to Dollsteinen

Hiking across the Sandsøya island tops is a very popular activity. There is an annual run across the “7 tops” which I planned to do back in the days when I considered myself to be a mountain runner. But I never got around to do so, and now those days have passed.

Still, I enjoy a fast hike across these tops. Like on this beautiful day…
