Friday: I started working 5:30am and continued until 11:30am, when it was time to pack the car for the Easter break. Around noon, we left Sogndal and sat course for our basecamp in Jønndalen (Nore og Uvdal) in eastern Norway.
It’s a 4-hour drive, but it took us closer to 6 hours to get there. We had to have a longer stop in Geilo to get what we needed for easter.
It wasn’t much snow left in the mountains. True, Easter was late this year but still. It was a sad sight.
The rented cabin was nice! Very practical and not too big. Just how we like it.
After getting food and stuff indoors, we drove a bit further up the road for a short and easy walk to Hårånuten. I was pretty certain that Karma would not stop, and she didn’t.
On the contrary, she seemed very happy. It’s an objective fact that there is something wrong, related to her hip, but I still think that she has played mind games with me for the last week.
With a prominence of 18m, Hårånuten is hardly a top. But it was a totally OK destination for this evening, and we will for sure be seeking higher ground in the days to come.
This region wasn’t completely new to us. We had been hiking in the outskirts of it, now and then.
We did look forward to get to know the mountain tops on the south side of Jønndalen…
We didn’t particularly enjoy the ascent route and decided to look for a different route down…
I wasn’t feeling top notch. I had stomach problems after too much artichoke soup the day before. Yesterday, I knew nothing about inulin. Today, I know more. Once Anne had got the fireplace up and running, I lied down with Karma and fell asleep with my head against hers.
I woke up an hour later, feeling better and figured I had deserved a beer or two. Time to wind down a little…
Trip statistic: 2,6km, 110 vertical meters, 0h:44m
