Completion of a new route
On this afternoon, I finished marking the new route from Stemmedalsvatnet to Rjåhornet. We’re 3 sticks away of connecting this route to the route from Djupvika, but we have to wait until the snow melts on top.
The recent snowfall was not according to plan. A big setback for spring. It’s sad to see bird nests on the ground with snow all around. But for humans, this means an extended skiing season. Unfortunately, Rjåhornet does currently neither offer options for skiing or easy hiking.
After visiting the summit, I went back to the point where I stopped working 4 days ago. The slabs down to the lake meant that I had to secure the sticks with rocks. It was hard work to carry large enough rocks to support the sticks.
My dog Karma helped by pulling up some roots. But when off work, she seemed to enjoy the views…
This route isn’t really finished until we’ve order the signposts for the new route. But they will be in place some time this summer or autumn. Next up is the route from Rjåhornet to Nakken.
