Summer vacation, day 2

Continued from day 1

After spending a good night in the lovely Grimsdalen valley, it was time to pack the tent and set the course for nord-Østerdalen and the Tolga mountains.

Early morning in Grimsdalen. Time for breakfast!

But, we took our good time in leaving the valley…

Overlooking the eastern part of Grimsdalen

While daddy was taking pictures, Karma could satisfy her thirst…

Still in Grimsdalen…

To our surprise, we could now see fresh snow in the Rondane mountains. Rondane was actually our first pick for hanging around until the weather in northern Norway improved. But eventually, our decision was nord-Østerdalen. At least, there was no fresh snow in the mountains there…

Fresh snow on – Høgronden – I presume…

OK, moving on. Goodbye to Grimsdalen and Rondane!

Our next stop was in Alvdal where Anne and Bjørn Eirik visited the Aukrust museum. While I truly enjoy the Flåklypa movie(s), I’m not a museum type of guy. I walked Karma along the Glomma river instead…

Then we continued to Tynset, where we drove to Brydalen and then up the toll road to the cabins in Raudsjødalen. We found a nice place for a base-camp just south of the cabins.

And our base-camp was of the spacious sort…

Anne had brought a “lavvo” with plenty of room for 3 humans and 1 dog…

Enjoying the space…

Snoring is probably OK in here…
Chaos, but still order. Karma is not sure what’s going on…

I put up my “command center”, allowing me to update my GPS with maps from this place and up to northern Norway. My new GPS will probably hold all my maps, but the habit from 25 years ago where 3 maps were maximum is still clinging to me…

Soon, we can hike everywhere…

It was a bit too late in the day to any hiking, but the plan for next day was to – at least – visit Raudsjøpiggen. And hopefully – then some…

Goodnight!
