Blåtind (697m), Aug 16 2021

On Blåtind

A nice round trip hike across Hareidlandet’s highest top while higher mountains were hidden in fog

Sunnmøre alps – at the least the lower half – seen from Blåtind

Trip statistics: 4,5km, 625 vertical meters, 1h:27m

Veten on Hidsegga (556m), Aug 17 2021

Taking the steep route up from Hidsneset

Taking the newly marked route from Hidsneset (it’s steep!) up to Veten on Hidsegga (Gurskøy island). Upon descent, we headed down the Hidsdalen trail but forked on to Trond Hide’s private route down to his farm. That’s always fun…

On top of Veten

Trip statistics: 3,9km, 555 vertical meters, 1h:30m

Røyrafjellet (123m), Aug 18 2021

On Røyrafjellet

Røyrafjellet – on Dimnøya island outside Ulsteinvik – is one of the low-key walks I do when the weather is not too pleasant…

Trip statistics: 2,1km, 145 vertical meters, 30 minutes

Storetua (592m), Aug 19 2021

On the Storetua summit ridge

Key points on this round-trip hike to Storetua on Gurskøy: Fog, rain and a terrible descent route…

Trip statistics: 5,5km, 430 vertical meters, 1h:25m

Skåla (184m), Aug 20 2021

Rain showers in the neighborhood

A walk across Skåla on Gurskøy, including a visit to Stokksund.

Trip statistics: 6,6km, 235 vertical meters, 1h:24m

Orkja (948m), Aug 21 2021

Orkja seen from Kjøsnesfjorden

Orkja in Jølster is one of my regular hikes when I travel from home to Sogndal. I get to do a close to 1000m top up and down within the hour.

Once in Sogndal, Anne proudly presented the state of her garden. I know she will be proud to see theses pictures…

The 2nd hike today – this time in Anne’s backyard. I did not track this on GPS…

Trip statistics: 6,6km, 235 vertical meters, 1h:24m
