Wednesday: It was yet another hot day on Sunnmøre, and I decided to go for Koppefjellet in Volda, assuming I would find water for Karma along the route for Aldalen. The temperature was 25 deg. C. when we left the car.
It was soon crystal clear that Karma had no plans to go anywhere this afternoon and ran back to the car. That’s highly unusual behaviour!
But I commanded her towards the creek so she would at least get something to drink.
I was just about to give up on this hike when she picked up a scent from the path. And then she was off like a rocket!
Access to the creek helped a ton and soon she was her usual self…
I normally head directly for Koppefjellet, and I assumed the path we were on would take us there. But, to my surprise – the path led us to the south end of the summit ridge. Oh well, we had all the time in the world, so why not just follow it…
We didn’t have access to a creek anymore, and so snowfields and ponds were quite welcome!
There was absolutely nothing that should prevent us from reaching the top!
And then we were up!
I knew the views inside and out, but they’re still nice!
When I took the below picture, I had absolutely no idea that I would be standing on top of Saudehornet (to the left) the very next day!
And when I took a picture of Eidskyrkja, I had absolutely no idea that I would be skiing this mountain by the end of the week…
We took the direct route down. The snowfields helped a lot!
