This was our 2nd day of easter vacation at Beitostølen. Anne and me had skied Javnberget earlier in the day, and then drove to Raudalen to have lunch at Raudalshytta. After lunch, we drove to Liagrende to ski Liahovda. The strong wind forced most skiers to stay at lower elevations this weekend.
We parked at Liagrende by Lake Øyangen and followed the cross-country skiing trail for a very short distance before we went off-trail up the forest. The snow had an icy crust and carried our weight well. The distance up to the summit was only 1,5km, and from the top we had a great panorama view towards Beitostølen;
Anne wanted to become familiar with some of the cross-country trails on our way down from Liahovda, so we followed one of them (apparently a WC-trail) down the forest and back to Liagrende. It was really nice to “fly” down the mountain on a perfect track.
3,8km, 150 vertical meters, 0h:52m.
