Monday: This week started by an easy afternoon hike across Huldrehonet. I wasn’t able to persuade Anne to come along. Karma and I started out by hiking the Dyrkyrkja route. This route was quite overgrown, so I already laid out a plan of returning here with the brush cutter in 2024.

There was little daylight left, so we’d better hurry. I didn’t have the wisdom to bring a headlamp today, either. It takes some getting used to…

The weather was still great, and the snowline was still high

Eventually, we got Huldrehornet in clear view.

Too bad about the shortage of daylight. By now, I was in mood for a longer hike. But that would have to wait…

Then we reached the top.

It was mighty nice to see the moon. I’ve been missing it.

When we finally reached lake Djupvikvatnet, it was almost dark. I don’t know where the camera found light…

Tuesday: After work, it was time for a quick hike to Røddalshorn with Anne and Karma.

We were hoping to capture the final rays of sunshine when we got up.

We were enjoying yet another wonderful afternoon, and there had been a lot of fun stuff going on up in the sky lately.

Nice...

Our timing looked good so far…

It was about now I was realizing – crap, I really have to give the dog a haircut before the winter.

I know something you don’t,…

Man, it’s nice to be out on afternoons like this!

For descent, we took an off-trail route that seemed safe enough this late in the season. I had a close encounter with a poisonous viper here that could have ended in a bite…

Wednesday: My lunchbreak was spent on the Osnessanden beach in Ulsteinvik, looking forward to going on a walk after work.

That walk went to Rjåhornet where I had been given the assignment to remove the Stikk-Ut sticker on top, now that the Stikk-Ut season had ended. The things we do for the greater good…

It was yet another beautiful afternoon, but it was really, really chilly.

When we reached the top, I struggled to remove the sticker. It was just … sticky! After a while, I couldn’t feel my fingers.

Once I had removed the sticker code, I decided that would be enough and we headed back down, treating ourselves with an off-trail route.

It was nice to see the moon today also, hoping to catch a better picture later on…

Friday: As I was now “on a roll” with tasks for “Turstiprosjektet Myrvåg/Tjørvåg” (removing Stikk-Ut stickers) I figured I could end the working part of the week with combining trail maintenance in the Rambjøra forest with checking the visitor register on top. This was the final top where we hadn’t checked the register.

Back home, I tried to take a picture with my camera, but I just couldn’t remember the correct settings. And the result was quite poor. Next time, though…

It looked better in real life…
