Sunday: Sunday morning, Anne said yes to come along with a hike, probably too tired to remember that I don’t mind long Sunday walks

But first, she would join her friends for a swim in Sogndalsfjøra.

Then I told her that I wanted to hike Nuken from Bjella, via Bjellastølen. She had never hiked from Bjella before and was interested. And so, the plan was set.

I had done this hike once before and was happy to see that Anne enjoyed the route and the terrain.

It is a nice route, and I certainly didn’t miss the snow. Our winters are long enough as they are…

Then, Bjellastølen came into view…

I didn’t have a clear plan from here on. Maybe I had imagined we would go off-trail from here, but I felt that it was best to follow the path to Åsen and continue to Nuken from there. Anne agreed.

The forest was as good as snow-free

After a little while, we came out of the thicker forest and had mountain view

Karma really enjoyed being outdoors. We all did…

I then introduced Anne to the path that runs on the south side of Skarpinov. She didn’t know about this route. It is a nice variation when you’ve done the Åsen route 100 times…

Looking towards Skardsbøfjellet, I wondered if “I Z V” stood for something…

We had a good view towards Tylderingen, where Karma and I were the day before.

Not far to Nuken now…

And then we were on top

Going back the same way would have been boring, and I didn’t have to argue hard about continuing across the mountain and return via Hyllsete.

Then we got going…

We had a good view towards Molden – a mountain we would typically ski this time of year. But we skied there in March, so it was already “in the bag” for 2023…

Hiking in the snow was easy today…

Then we tried to do things we’re too old to do…

Eventually, we reached Hyllsete and were now approaching civilization.

After a long tractor road, we passed Åberge.

Then we enjoyed a good view towards Sogndal before making our way back to Bjella, via Gorvin.
