My biking route
My biking route

Saturday: Last night I went to Ålesund and attended a Christmas party with colleagues. Our friend Lena was looking after Karma, as her husband Terje also were attending the party. Our colleague Håvard was driving us to the boat, and he also drove me and Karma back home later in the evening.

The next morning, I had to get my car at Lena & Terje’s place and I’m not the kind of guy who takes a taxi

The only issue was that there was too much snow for hiking and too little for skiing. Hence, I went biking

I biked up Ringstaddalen with the intention to bring the bike all the way to Hasundhornet and then continue down to Ulsteinvik. When I passed Garnestua, I had no idea that I would be standing on top later in the day – walking the dog…

It was a bit cold, but I stayed warm as long as I was going uphill. When I reached the Hasundhornet trail, I knew that there would be mixed walking and biking to the top.

I’ve been so used to sunsets lately that I had to think hard to understand that I was witnessing sunrise

Nice...

Eventually, I reached the top.

It was the perfect day for taking pictures!

We are blessed to live in this beautiful country.

I still had no idea about standing on top of the neighbor mountain later in the day…

But I was getting cold and had to move on. My next stop would be Ulsteinvik

After a careful, but nice descent from Hasundhornet, I was back on the Fjelle road and now I was really getting cold. It was a lot of downhill from here on…

When I finally arrived at my car, I was so cold that I felt like the guys from Dumb & Dumber, arriving in Aspen. But, it was a fun trip!

Saturday: After returning home with my car, Karma went nuts. I had been away for 2 hours but in dog time this was a good week!

She was running in circles, eager to hit the trail. I just wanted to hit the shower, but the dog always comes first…

I decided to hike Garnestua from Haddal. That would be a proper hike in the snow…

The amount of snow in the forest was tolerable

But when we got above the forest, the hike got harder.

Still, it was just beautiful to be up here…

Karma just has to check out EVERYTHING!

This is one of Karma’s favorite routes, all thanks to a hare back in 2008…

It seemed like we would witness yet another beautiful sunset

The sun had gone down and there was this beautiful glow lingering in the ocean.

On our way down, the wind picked up and it was quite chilly up here…

Brr...

We agreed to hurry up and get off the mountain before the wind got worse.

Once back home, I figured I had earned a beer or two.
