Monday: During my lunchbreak in Sogndal, I walked the dog down by the fjord, while wondering which top I should walk the dog to, in the afternoon. I have like half a dozen of regular hikes to choose from.
In the afternoon, the weather was gorgeous when I left Sogndal…
Today, I ended up with Gryta above Stryn.
I drove up to Bøasætra (470m elev.) and followed the regular trail upwards.
I’ve done this hike a couple of times before and I really enjoy it. The big reward is the great Stryn view from the top.
I didn’t pay too much attention to the paths and all of a sudden, we were on our way up to the Bubergskaret pass. I considered briefly hiking Gryta from the pass but in the end, I decided to just hike off-trail up the mountain.
Halfway (++) up the mountain, we joined the regular path that took us to the top.
The top has nice views, but I was here for the Stryn view. Which meant I had to continue across the mountain (still along a path) 300 meters until the view towards Stryn opened up.
It was nice as always.
Then we continued along the path, which descends the west side of the mountain. It has one steep section that looks steep and frightening when you have a dog, but if the dog is used to handle itself, then this section is negotiable.
A bit later, we were back at the car and could continue our journey back home.
Trip statistics: 5,9km, 580 vertical meters, 1h:28m
