Sunday: Another nice day in Jønndalen, but rain was expected in the afternoon. We decided to do a hike from Gjuvenes to Flåtåfjellet – a hike that shouldn’t be too hard for Karma. We had no way of knowing how much yesterday’s hike costed her, so we would be watching her closely, and abort if she showed signs of fatigue or discomfort.

From Gjuvenes, we followed a boring cabin village road. On the upside – an easy ascent!

So far, Karma was looking top notch!

We got to the “Jakthytta” cabin and found a path that we followed for a little while.

Karma was still sending out positive signals

The terrain was easy enough. Hiking was nice.

The snow carried our weight.

Flåtåfjellet is a true “false top” massif, but finally – the high point came into view.

And then we were up!

We were more and more getting familiar with the surroundings.

The original plan was to hike to the foot of Rundkult – which I hiked yesterday afternoon and follow the same route back down. But it felt really difficult to just pass Ryggehovde. In the end, I was able to get Anne onboard for hiking across Ryggehovde.

She had to dig a bit deep for this one…

…but eventually, we got up.

Now – we aimed for the foot of Rundkult.

It was really nice to have done Ryggehovde. I would have hated to leave Jønndalen without being on top.

We had a nice view towards Kistenuten – which we visited the day before.

I had warned Anne that there was a part with rotten snow in the forest…

Finally, we came down to Jønndalen Høyfjellseter and could follow gravel roads back to the cabin.

I just had to get on the bike to pick up the car, 2km down the valley…

Around 6pm, the rain sat in, as forecasted…
