Saturday: After breakfast with Anne in Sogndal, we discussed where to go for a hike. I proposed Tirsholten (816m) in the Kaupanger forest, via Hungerhaug. Anne was up for this. But it was a late breakfast, and I wasn’t sure we had enough daylight. Moreover, we didn’t bring headlamps.
The day had already started good. 2 days ago, Karma had eaten my sleep earplugs, thinking they were treats. It’s a relatively new treat hunt we’ve introduced, to keep Karma sharp in the evening. Over the past weeks, we’ve seen her more and more committed and two days ago, my ear plugs disappeared from our bedroom.
The vet had assured me that they would come out the natural way, and while this is not a picture the average reader would enjoy, it made me so happy…
Later in the day, we drove to Dalåker to hike Tirsholten…
The thin layer of snow was just nice. We switched between forest roads and forest paths…
Later than I had planned, we reached Hungerhaug. Tirsholten wasn’t that far away, but far enough away in terms of the daylight left.
We continued for 1km in the direction of Tirsholten…
…but then we agreed to turn around.
So now what? I really dislike not having a top – or at least a named point – to visit. Then I realized that there was a really nice viewpoint – with a name! And then we headed for Kvitebergholten…
And Kvitebergholten was just plain nice! We hung out there for a little while…
…enjoying the views…
…and our little four-legged friend…
