My hike to Tilremshatten
My hike to Tilremshatten

Monday: After my working day in Brønnøysund, I went into mom’s backyard and cleared all the weed that had grown since I was here in May. A bit later, I went over to the nearest bus stop and picked up mom, coming from the hospital in Sandnessjøen on a bus. She didn’t feel to great but at least she was in shape to stay at home.

The weather was utterly miserable, but I found the mental will to return to “Skytebanen” (the Shooting range) and do the same hike to Tilremshatten, that I did the day before.

I found a new variation to the route, which was less muddy. Bonus!

Fortunately, the forecast didn’t suggest rain *all* week. I have hopes for a hike to Mosaksla without rain tomorrow.

Also today, I decided to go for the high point (which hardly no one else go to) even if that meant high and wet grass.

I took the same route back down and was back at the house, 1h:15m after leaving.

Trip statistics: 3,9km, 335 vertical meters, 1h:05m

Wednesday: It was raining when I finished my working day in Brønnøysund. But not a lot, and so I figured I could survive a hike up and down Trælneshatten…

When I got to Trælnes, it had stopped raining. That was a huge bonus. If it only could stay that way!

It was 3 months since I was here last time (June 1st) and then I had a bicycle awaiting at Kvervet. Today, I would go up from Trælnes and return the same way.

I like this mountain. It’s wild and rugged and I hope I some day get the time to explore some of the steeper and airier routes…

A bit higher up in the forest, the terrain is a bit steep, and I had fun with getting up without using my hands. Here and there, some orchestration of the movements is called for…

Still, it wasn’t raining, but the fog seemed to be closing in on the mountain – again.

Today’s hike felt shorter than the last time. I was up in 51 minutes (without rushing anything), and after checking, the last hike to 53 minutes. So yeah – faster although not shorter 😉

The light at sea was cool…

But the light above Brønnøysund – not so much…

But pictures wasn’t the most important thing today. I got my 500 vertical meters (+) without rain.

It was time get back home and join mom for dinner…

On my way back to Brønnøysund, I stopped for a few more pictures.

At Trælvikosen, I also had to stop…

Later in the evening, mom and I drove up to Skardsåsen to catch the sunset. I’m not sure if one is supposed to drive all the way up, but I did.
