Saturday: I needed to get away from my local area and decided to drive to Stadlandet to finally check out the hike between Indre and Ytre Fure. But a walk along the shore isn’t exactly what I typically do, so I had to put some tops into the equation.
Anne left for a Yoga-week in Spain, so I had the weekend all to myself!
I had done both Signalen and Blåfjellet from the Hoddevika side, but why not visit them again? After all, it had been a while (2011) and Karma hadn’t been to these tops. There was a path on the map from Ytre Fure and up the mountain, but how would I get back down? I was mentally prepared to hike all the way to Drage and endure 4km along the road back to Indre Fure.
Indre Fure was a very nice place! You can read about Indre Fure here. You can also search for Ytre Fure and get numerous hits.
And the path towards Ytre Fure was nice too!
Across Sildegapet, we could see the Mehuken wind turbines. I don’t mind seeing wind turbines, but I feel sad about the vast area that had to be destroyed to get the road in place…
I enjoyed this walk. I understand why it’s popular.
After a little while, Ytre Fure came into view.
The path was a mix of obvious and not so obvious…
It was a hot day and I was a little worried about water for Karma. But we found enough of it.
After 2,7km, we arrived at the first building.
The owner was present, and we had a good chat before I continued up the mountain.
It was sort of tempting to visit Furehornet (212m), but it would be a detour and I figured this hike would be long enough as it was.
So, we continued up to Signalen, greeting locals along the way…
Fortunately, the meadows also offered plenty water.
And eventually, we reached the top of Signalen. I could not remember anything from the 2011 hike, and nothing looked familiar either.
Next, we moved on towards Blåfjellet – off-trail.
The off-trail part was a bit cumbersome, but we didn’t struggle too much.
On Blåfjellet, I decided to take a chance and try to descend directly to Indre Fure. On the map, I saw cabins – or ruins from cabins and I wondered why they would be there, if not accessed from Indre Fure?
The terrain was overall steep, but I found a way that took us down into the lower part of the valley and I was truly delighted about not having to hike all the way to Drage – and back along the road.
It was a very fun roundtrip hike! I recommend it!
