Our route

Saturday: I had spent all week in Sogndal and had wonderful hikes every single afternoon, and now the weekend was here!

Anne had other plans than hiking, so I took the dog and drove to Fretland to hike Tylderingen, knowing that there was already a path in the snow up there. It was definitely not skiing conditions!

There was snow at Fretland, but very little and it was just perfect for hiking.

I’m pretty sure I’ve never hiked Tylderingen on foot in the winter season. Maybe late in spring, with some snow left, but never in November.

I was having a really good time on my way up the mountain…

When we ran into a little bit more snow, her enthusiasm skyrocketed. There’s just something magical about a thin layer of snow…

What a great October and November we’ve had! There has been glimpses of rain and snow, but I had completely forgotten about it.

Hiking and skiing this mountain feel like two completely different things, as the hiking and skiing routes are different.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve hiked from Fretland. When hiking, I prefer the route via Stepin.

Too bad about this perfect snow – and so little of it…

By the looks of it, it should be possible to ski to Blåfjellet. But that was not my agenda this week.

I decided to stop for a close-up picture of Karma. I normally do this on top of a mountain, but there was something about the light and scenery. I was quite happy with it…

My last picture of the day was of a bonfire from a place where I didn’t know people lived…
