Monday: Up 6:15am and 15 minutes later, a non-stop working day until I called it a day at 3:15pm. Anne left in the morning, so I could decide this afternoon’s walk all by myself. Well, I could always ask Karma, but she is the silent type. And normally, she goes along with my suggestions.
It’s been a little while since I hiked Skolma from Flø, so that became the plan for this afternoon.
It was raining lightly as I drove to Flø, but once we started walking, there were only a few, minor raindrops.
Flø is a beautiful place to be in nice weather, but a very exposed place in bad weather…
There were two things I wanted to, while still at the shore. The first was to go down to the ocean and take pictures of waves. They weren’t that big, so I had to get closer for OK pictures.
The 2nd thing I wanted to do, was to scramble Hoksteinen (one more time).
But I chose to do neither of those things, as I chose to give priority to daylight.
After 2km of flat terrain, we started the ascent towards Skolma.
I was a little bored from this route, but Karma was as eager as it gets.
The upside was that the weather was getting better, but the downside was that it got windier the higher we got.
I just hoped there wasn’t an inferno on top. That could get quite unpleasant.
One could *see* that it was windy…
When we reached the top, the conditions weren’t worse than what we had so far. Good news!
Daylight was fading and there was a beautiful glow in the distance…
On the way down, we took an off-trail route down to Ytreflødalen.
It was starting to turn dark when we returned to the shore. We returned to the car 6:15pm. I think we soon can leave the headlamp back home when we go on our afternoon walks.
Trip statistics: 10,7km, 630 vertical meters, 2h:30m
