Friday: Another nice day, and Karma got a bonus walk at Osnessanden in Ulsteinvik during my lunchbreak.
After work, I decided to hike Garnestua from Haddal. Karma simply LOVES this route and now that she’s 1kg lighter after the haircut, I assumed she would be on fire.
Sure enough. I had to yell at her to stop for a picture.
The forest part is nice enough, but I always look forward to getting above it.
I was now on my way to my 140th visit to this top. I’m still not tired of this mountain.
I loved every second of this hike. The light, the clouds, the sunset – everything. And I was feeling pretty OK too. Maybe this round of antibiotics would be the right and final one. Fingers crossed.
My camera was running hot…
Eventually we reached the top and I was thinking that blue sky is overrated. Especially with clouds like these…
Looking at Karma, I felt ashamed. She got a rush haircut the day before and I prioritized daylight over the result. But I will give her a second cut during the weekend.
The timing was perfect. I enjoyed watching the sun disappear in the horizon.
Next, we moved over to Flåna…
Then followed another round of pictures. I’m not sure what Karma was thinking, but she’s very patient and never complains.
Today, most of my pictures were taken from rocks and with countdown. I didn’t want to risk crappy handheld pictures this afternoon!
The plan was to hike around lake Garnesvatnet on the west and south side. But suddenly I decided to go off-trail and passed the lake on the north side. Terrible terrain. Not to be repeated.
All of a sudden, I saw two deer in profile with a red sky in the background. I stared at them for a few seconds, they stared at me. I slowly lifted my camera. They ran away. Dang!
On my way home, I stopped by the Dragsund bridge to take a picture of Rjåhornet. Mental learning note: stars are moving within 30 seconds…
Trip statistics: 7,5km, 685 vertical meters, 2h:32m
